CS Open Faculty Positions
Part-time Instructors (Adjuncts)
Details: The Department of Computer Science at Bowling Green State University seeks applicants for one or more part-time, adjunct teaching positions. The position carries a 3-, 6-, or 9-hour load (1,2 or 3 courses, in the classroom or online). Salary varies with teaching load. Adjunct faculty typically teach freshman courses; specific course assignment will depend on the instructor’s credentials. Starting dates are either August 2025 or January 2026.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field. Evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level is preferred.

- Letter of application outlining qualifications relevant to this position—(a) Candidates are asked to clearly identify the specific courses and general fields within the Department of Computer Science that they are qualified to teach in the first paragraph of their letter. (b) If candidates have online/remote teaching experience, they are asked to clearly describe the extent of that experience in the letter. (c) Please note your availability to teach in-person (in Bowling Green, Ohio) or online. Note: Candidates may be asked to provide credentials specific to the course that they will teach.
- Teaching statement briefly outlining your beliefs about the teaching and learning process as well as concrete examples of ways in which you enact those beliefs in the classroom.
- Full curriculum vita.
- Original transcript(s) indicating highest degree earned (snail mail or electronically sent from the institution where the degree was conferred).
- Two current (dated within the past year) original letters of reference to be sent directly from the recommender or a dossier service like Interfolio to Eva Crimmins, [email protected].
Finalists will be required to authorize and pass a background check prior to offer of employment.
