The high level of expertise and training required contributes to the prestige and financial rewards of the job.

  • Top-tier student organizations. Forge lifelong connections in flight training through our student organizations, including:
  • FAA-approved Part 141 flight school. BGSU offers students the opportunity to earn their commercial pilot certification with significantly less flight time and expense than completing commercial certification under Part 61. And when you’re ready to take your Federal Aviation Administration written exams, you can do so at our on-site PSI testing center.
  • Flight school scholarships. The cost to become a pilot is considerably higher than the base level of tuition for most other majors. Still, most BGSU FTO graduates agree it’s well worth it. We offer many aviation scholarships, thanks to industry and alumni investments.
